Nähschule: Die erste Bluse meines Lebens

Liebe Eupener Nähschule, Dear sewing school of Eupen,

ich gebe zu, ich war nicht so begeistert, daß ich die ersten Abende auf Papier nähen musste ...  daß wir "auf Punkte" nähen (... das belgische System eben ... 10 Punkte auf 10 ist das Equivalent zur Note 1) ... ,daß man zum Schuljahresende tatsächlich Prüfungen hat (heh ... ich dachte ich sei aus dem Alter raus) ... daß es eben dauert, bis man ENDLICH mal was näht! Aber jetzt ist knapp ein halbes Schuljahr rum und hier ist jetzt die erste Bluse meines Nähdaseins!

I have to admit that I wasn't too pleased when I had to sew paper the first nights ... that we get grades for sewing (... the belgian system .. you know ... 10 points of 10 are the equivalent to a grade A) ..., that we indeed will have examinations at the end of the year (hey ... I thought I was way beyond that age) ... that it takes time until we really FINALLY sew something. Now fairly half a year passed and here it is: my very first blouse of my being a sewer!

Schnitt: Patrones Extra (keine Ahnung von welchem Jahr), Modell 12. Anleitung in Spanisch ... und wirklich kein leicht zu nähendes Teil, jedenfalls nicht für mich.

Danke Madame Hurlet für die Hilfe, ohne Sie wäre das Teil aus dem Fenster geflogen. Und danke an meinen Nähmaschinen-Verkäufer der die Nähschule in den höchsten Tönen gelobt hat (Recht hat er!). Ich freue mich auf jeden Dienstagabend an dem ich kommen darf, nähen ist einfach mein Ding!

Thank you Madame Hurlat for your help, without you this baby would have taken a swift ride through the window. And thanks to my sewing machine vendor for his recommendation to your school (he is so right!). I am eager to go there each Tuesday night, sewing is just what I love to do!

Das kalte Wetter ist zum Nähen ideal ...

Heute war Nähtag. Es ist eine Weile her, daß ich hier meine Kreationen präsentiert habe, was nicht heißt, daß nichts passiert. Manchmal finde ich die Dinge nicht sehr gelungen. Z.B. diese Jacke hier:

Today was sewing day. It's been a while since I presented creations of mine which doesn't mean that nothing happens. Sometimes I don't find the results very satisfying. For example this jacket right here:

Modell PELLWORM von Schnittreif.

Ok, es ist nicht ganz daneben gegangen, aber der Reißverschluß ist wellig  weil das Futter viel zu dick geworden ist und ich es irgendwie nicht anders hinbekommen habe. Gefüttert ist die Jacke übrigens wieder mit einem Recycle-Pulli aus dem Second-Hand-Shop.

Ok, it's not a total desaster but the zipper is bulky because the lining is way to thick and I couldn't do it any better. The lining by the way is a recycled pullover from the second hand shop.

Aber hier ist was ich HEUTE genäht habe:
But here is what I have done TODAY:

Mein erstes Vlieland Kleidchen. Ganz schön kniffelig, was aber nicht am Schnitt lag, sondern am Material. Ein Jersey der total schlabbrig und elastisch ist UND Streifenmuster!!! Ich bin bald WAHNSINNIG geworden, habe gereiht und gesteckt und mich Zentimeter für Zentimeter vorangetastet. So, und nun ist es vollbracht! Nur: es ist viel zu kalt um es morgen anzuziehen :-( also muss ich warten. Aber ich freu mich!

My first VLIELAND dress. Quite tricky, not due to the pattern but to the fabric. A jersey which was super strechy in all directions PLUS striped!!! I nearly went ballistic, stringing and pinning centimeter by centimeter to the final destination. Well, it's done! Only: it's too cold out to wear it :-( so I have to wait. But I am eager!

Recycling: Rock

Aus einer alten Sweatshirt-Jacke (Ulla Poppken = viiiel Stoff) wird ein Rock
Made from an old sweatshirt-jacket (Ulla Poppken = loooots of fabric) results a skirt.

Hier die Jacke, dazu kam an Material noch 1/2 Meter Feincord und ein Reißverschluss. Die restlichen Zutaten hatte ich noch in meinem Fundus.


This is the jacket, the material added was 1/2 meter of fine corduroy and a zipper. The rest of the ingredients were still in my equipment.

Und ja (!), den Schnitt habe ich nicht zum letzten Mal verarbeitet :-). Supereinfach mit der Fotoanleitung! Ein dickes Kompliment an Anja!

And yes (!), this pattern has not been realized the last time :-). Very easy with photo tutorial! A big compliment to Anja!

Recycling: Hut

Wie schon erwähnt, bin ich immer froh und ein bisschen stolz, wenn ich aus fast nix (also fast umsonst) etwas Neues zaubern kann. Hier habe ich einen alten Mantel zerschnitten. Gefallen hat der mir eh nie, obwohl ich dieses Petrol schon klasse fand ... naja, zusammen mit Fundstücken aus meiner Restekiste wurde noch ein netter Hut daraus.

As said before I am always happy and a bit proud when I conjure something from merely nothing (i.e. for close to nothing). Here I cut up an old coat. I never really liked it though I found the petrol color appealing ... well, together with a few scraps of my old scrap-box it became a nice hat.

 Bei dem Foto habe ich allerdings nicht mein Bestes gegeben, die Farben stimmen garnicht ... und den Hut habe ich Silvester verschenkt ..... naja ...

I did not give it all taking this pic, the colors aren't right ... and I already gave the hat away as a present on New Year's Eve .... well .... 

Die Ufopflanze blüht!

Ok, Ufopflanzen (auch Bauchnabelpflanzen genannt) blühen nicht ... aber da kann man ja was gegen tun.

Ok, Ufo-plants (also called belly button plants ... at least in German) don't bloom ... but there is something one can do about this.

Ich komme schlecht vorbei an schönen natürlichen Materialien, wie zum Beispiel diese Bucheckernschalen und Eichelhülsen. Mit ein bisschen Phantasie werden sie zu schönen "Blüten".

I can hardly pass-by beautiful natural materials, such as beechnut- and acorn shells. With a bit of phantasy they turn into pretty blooms.

Irgendwie habe ich, seit ich hier all die schönen Blogs mit den tollen Nähkunstwerken lese, total Lust auf Röcke und Kleider. Auf der Firmenweihnachtsfeier hatte ich nach ziemlich langer Zeit wieder mal einen Rock an. Selbstgenäht!! Helma heißt das gute Stück! Und heute ist's die Helma die ich im Sommer mal probegenäht hatte.

Somehow I am getting more and more interested in making skirts an dresses, since I am reading all these nice blogs with all these wonderful sewing results. For our office Xmas party I make a balloon skirt. It is called Helma. And today it's Helma which I sewed last summer as a sample.

Ich war bisher nicht sehr überzeugt von diesem Teil ...... aber, ich weiß nicht warum, es scheint immer eine Weile zu brauchen, bis ich mich mit meinen Kreationen anfreunden kann.
I've been not to convinced of this creation ... but, I don't know why, it seems that it always takes a while until I can get friends with my results.

Recycling

Ich bin für Recycling, trenne Müll, fahre regelmäßig zum Containerpark, habe einen Komposthaufen im Garten. In Punkto Klamotten mache ich keine Ausnahme. Wir haben in unserem Städtchen eine Organisation die sich "Eine Hand für Tschernobyl" nennt. Da bekommt man alles Second Hand, auch Klamotten. Ich bringe ab und zu ausrangiertes hin und gehe praktisch nie ohne was "neues" wieder da raus. Die Kosten verdienen nicht selbigen Namen, das sind wirklich nur Peanuts. Der Erlös geht an verstrahlte Kinder in Uljanovo in Russland, die Organisation wird von Ehrenamtlichen geführt. Die Atmosphäre da ist herzlich, hauptsächlich ältere Leutchen die einfach nur was Sinnvolles mit ihrer Zeit machen wollen.

Diese Handschuhe hier habe ich aus einem alten Wollpullover gemacht. Gefilzt in der Waschmaschine bei 90 Grad, mit Bündchen ausgeschnitten, verziert und zusammengenäht.

Ob ich damit einen Kommentar bekomme? Es wäre mein erster ..... :-)

Ich habe noch ein paar Perlchen mehr draufgenäht ... sah mir zu sehr wie Augen aus mit nur zwei Perlen. Applikationen nach der Methode von Poppy Treffry liebe ich sehr. Die Stoffrestchen werden bewusst unsauber aufgenäht, das wirkt ein bisschen wie mit dem Stift gekritzelt.

Der Rest vom Pulli wird noch anderweitig Verwendung finden, da bin ich sicher.
